Project
Dockside is a next-generation build-to-rent development in Leith, Edinburgh, delivering 373 new homes across four apartment blocks on a prominent waterfront site at Albert Docks. The scheme includes a mix of family and affordable housing alongside 1.3 acres of new public realm space, helping to support the ongoing regeneration of Edinburgh’s historic docklands area and meet growing demand for high-quality urban residential accommodation.
Designed with sustainability and community impact at its core, the development is being delivered in line with a comprehensive ESG strategy. Targets include the creation of £2 million in socio-economic benefits, the generation of 60 local jobs, and a 55% reduction in operational carbon emissions. Once complete, Dockside is expected to become one of Scotland’s most sustainable large-scale residential developments.
Located close to Ocean Terminal and key transport links, the waterfront scheme will provide extensive resident amenities including a fitness centre, landscaped gardens, co-working facilities and rooftop terraces overlooking the Firth of Forth and Edinburgh city centre. For construction and building envelope specialists, the project highlights the increasing emphasis on sustainable design, energy efficiency and high-quality residential environments within modern build-to-rent developments.
